Fresh [slightly late] Friday Greens...

A belated Friday Flowers - turns into Friday - Weekend Greenery! If you can't get a hold of some Christmas inspired red or white flowers - some simple, fresh greenery will always look great! Arrange on your entry way table, your dining table, a mantle piece, or on your front door - smells great & welcoming too!
Enjoy,

Pretty Flowers...

Very pretty plowers for a  very pretty & darling little baby girl,  Joia Belle,. Who was born last week to my dear friends Nora & her husband Rob, their 3rd child but 1st little girl in the family! I was lucky enough to have a little cuddle when she was just a day old - very lovely & very precious!
Congratulations & Blessings to the families!

Happy Weekend! x

Happy Weekend!
Thank you so very much for bearing with me over the past few weeks!
It's been a little bit of a 'flood' of events over the past week or so hence not being able to get onto my love, Palatial Living, so to share all the inspires me - and a few great projects along the way!
A lot has been happening in both work and family life... I am preparing to head off to China week after next for nearly 2 weeks on a sourcing & development trip - which is very exciting but will be a lot of hard work - meeting suppliers and visiting their showrooms, with at least 4 internal flights and an express train trip to boot! All in the name of style & product!
My super - wonderful -lovely students for my Cert IV Design Monday night class at ISCD will have to do without me for 1 week -  I will miss them... I love teaching at ISCD, if you're thinking about learning more about colour & design be sure to check out ISCD's website for on campus & distance learning through their iDE [international distance education] program. Which leads me to my fabulous & very resourceful iDE Cert IV Design students - who continue to blow me away over the month of may I had over 8 students submit their work - and you cannot believe the creative pieces they turn out! Am simply continually amazed!

On the home front - we've been cleaning out, throwing out and working out the 'what to do next' phase! Recently our new bed & side tables arrived [thank goodness - the bed was dying!}and our existing tall boy and blanket box no longer matched  in colouration to the new pieces... I love the 'old' pieces so was thinking of way to keep them and to not spend more money, & of how I could best re-purpose them...
Solution - I sanded and repainted them - Voila! The last coat of paint on the drawers is drying as we speak! So I plan to post pics of the before and after paint project for you - I am so pleased with the outcome and can't wait to add the crystal drawer knobs, I purchased in my fave home wares store Port Douglas last March whilst on our baby moon, onto the drawers! Stay tuned...
So a little more garage cleaning tomorrow and a trip to the local tip... and definitely a glass of wine!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend & a very Palatial time doing it!
See you soon...

Thinking Green for Easter...

Thinking Green for Easter... Here's a reusable and sweet way to display Easter style blooms... simply dye eggshells [with food colouring] to be pretty pastels, or using an egg-dyeing kit. Carefully cut an opening in the top of the eggshell and fill with soil and a flower in a complementing color such as African Violets, flowering succulents or Begonias. Why not use the bottom half of your egg carton to house them in a rows. Or if you have a ceramic egg crate use it as your 'vase' to grow!
If you get a chance to complete this project please send me your photos at palatialliving@gmail.com  would love to see them and post them on Palatial Living!
Enjoy,

Flowers for Friday...Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday! I love this bright living room - I don't usually like 'yellow' as a main decorating colour more as an accent tor highligh, than as a main hue - but somehow in this space - combined with the raspberry pink red & off-white it really works. All colours share a 'muddier' grey base - they share the same value - and are therefore cohesive - one is not 'fighting' the other because they all share the same base. But really - I picked these images because I love the mixed pink peonies vased and placed on the tray coupled with a few books & favourite objects on the ottoman. A small casual vignette  that brings an 'organic' personal touch to the room.
This weekend I am 'taking it easy' getting rid of this bug for a start, and preparing to organise & de-clutter the home office project before ordering furniture & pieces. Plus a nice late afternoon sunny snooze somewhere fitted in!
I hope you have a lovely weekend [the weather in Sydney is set for sunny brilliant blue winter skies] and rejuvenate over the weekend, with family & friends, for a another wonderful week ahead! Thank You for joining me this week at Palatial Living - and your kind emails whilst I've been a 'tad under the weather'! See you next week! S xxx

Flowers for Friday...

Happy Friday - Welcome Weekend! I am so happy that this week - here in Sydney- is finishing up on Sunny, Beautiful, Cool weather. We had almost 2 weeks of constant rain - great for the garden and those inside jobs I kept putting off - but not so for getting out & about with a newborn! I am so happy to have launched 'The Palatial Living Store' an e-store powered by Amazon where I have listed many of mine/ Palatial's favourite design & art books, movies & music - I hope that you will drop by and find something that you love!
This weekend here in Australia we have the June Long Weekend - Queen's Birthday [even though the Queen's actual birthday falls in April!] but all the more a great a excuse for a long weekend... which we all love!
A BIG Welcome to the newest Palatial Living followers this week - Thank You for joining & dropping by Palatial Living... your kind comments & wishes mean so much to me! Hope you have a fabulous Friday & a wonderful Weekend - a long one or not! Enjoy... S xxx

Friday Flowers...

It's a terribly dark & dreary day here in Sydney with torrential rain that doesn't seem like it will let up for a while now... So I was inspired to post this image of this very pretty, bright & colourful image of full headed peonies and a small turquoise ring in a pale pink shell vessel - it just pops!
I have to apologise and thank you all at once... I have been a little tardy in posting over the past several weeks as I try to get into more of a routine with my baby girl, Isabelle, and getting use to being at home making my own routine whilst also getting Isabelle's happening! So I thank you so much for your patience & for sticking with me at Palatial Living whilst I get my groove happening again! I am continually inspired and can't wait to keep sharing all my ideas with you, and hopefully help where I can!
Thanks again your support and kind wishes mean the world to me. Here's to Your Friday & Your Wonderful Weekend! Enjoy, S xxx

Friday Flowers...Special Delivery.

A vignette of a dozen vased Pink Tea Roses for Isabelle, combined with special glass & china pieces and shells - from so many different people & places - my husband's grandmother, a good friend, some travel finds and a birthday! I often think that the best displays are often gathered over time and from many different people & places.
Happy Friday! Friday Flowers have become a regular feature on Palatial Living for some time now... but lately they have become very special since we have so many lovely blooms given and sent to us for out sweet little newborn girl - Isabelle. This Friday I thought I would share with you the stunning Dozen Long Stem Pink Tea Roses that my sister, Felic & [new] brother-in-law, Alex aka Auntie & Uncle sent to Isabelle this week - her very first 'Roses Only' delivery and I am sure the first of many more to come!
Here's to your Friday Happiness and your Wonderful Weekend ahead... Thank You for stopping by at Palatial Living this week, and for all your lovely comments & kind wishes for our little Isabelle! Take Care & Enjoy, S xxx

Happy Friday... Flowers for Isabelle.

Happy Friday! I can't even begin to tell you how surreal this week has been for me [us] with the birth of our gorgeous little girl Isabelle, our life compass has certainly adjusted direction! Although not the best photography {but still god bless the iPhone!} here are some pics I took of the stunning full head scented roses my darling aunt Adele, uncle Jim & cousins Claudia & Luke, sent Isabelle & I from Grandiflora to celebrate her arrival - it just seemed perfect for Flowers for Friday on Palatial Living!
Here's to your wonderful weekend ahead & although mine will be spent in hospital - it will be none the less shared with our darling daughter, Isabelle, and lovely friends & family popping by to meet her! Take care, and a BIG thank you for all your support and kind wishes for our little girl. S xxx

Sweet Friday Flowers...

Seems we still have a good few Easter Eggs left around the house, for some reason the chocolate eggs always taste better than just having plain block chocolate! Purely in the head I know... that's why I couldn't go past these sweet flowers - pansies, snow drops, forget-me-nots, lavender buds and the like, all vased in pretty patterned egg cups. They reminded me of our little treats left over !
I hope you have a wonderful relaxing weekend... I plan to put my feet up for most of it - especially now that our nursery is as ready as it can be - just waiting for someone to fill it! Thank You again for stopping by at Palatial Living & for all your kind emails and comments.
Take Care & Happy Weekend! S xxx

Friday Flowers for L-O-V-E!

Flowers for Friday this week is for a very special reason - L-O-V-E - this weekend - is my [little] sister, Felicity's Wedding to her fiance Alexander! We're all so very excited for them both & cannot wait till Saturday afternoon for the Church ceremony, and following reception celebrations! Although I am a little inhibited at 36 weeks pregnant to a) wear the bridesmaid dress - I have a special one for the day as chief bridesmaid to accommodate Baby Verity! b) no flowing champagne for me - just mock tails, and c) have to keep it to a few dances instead of many; bonus - my husband is groomsman so we're together on the day! We do know it is going to be a fabulous day for my sister & our families, and Felic will be gorgeous bride!
Hope you have a love-filled weekend whatever you're up to - be it attending a wedding, or spending time with your family & friends, falling in love with a piece of furniture, art work or print, or a plant for your garden! Enjoy & Take Care. S xxx

Easter Monday...Happy Easter to You!

Between Ending the week last week with [Good] Friday Flowers and starting the week on Easter Monday with Flowers - although technically still the weekend... I couldn't resist the happy colourful bouquet of flowers to start the week and end the long weekend & to wish you a very Happy Easter!
I love all the colour used at Easter between the flowers used, the decorations, the shiny foil wrapping paper of all the Easter eggs, and [here in Sydney] the helium balloons, ride lights, and show bags from the Sydney Royal Easter Show - you'd be hard pressed to not find joy somewhere! If you live in Sydney or are visiting now is a great time to visit the Sydney Royal Easter Show - aptly known as when '... the country comes to town....'. Farm animals, carnies, rides, show bags and hepas of fun for grown-ups and children alike are all part of it - topped of with fireworks finale every night! On until Wednesday 14th April - For more info visit eastershow.com.au

Good Friday Flowers...

Aptly, Friday Flowers for Good Friday... today is a significant day in the Christian calendar, Good Friday - which commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary. This holiday is observed during holy week and is the Friday preceding Easter Sunday. Traditionally the Cala, Arum or November Lilies, or White flowers in general are used for floral arrangements in Churches and religious celebrations on Good Friday symbolising purity, death, and innocence.... I love this image, Magnolia Grandi-flora [one of my favourite blooms] arranged & housed in an ostrich egg [as a vase] makes for an interesting vignette - found from a floral arrangement decorating project on Martha Stewart.
Here's to your Easter[long] weekend - whether you choose celebrate Easter in a spiritual sense , or you're looking forward a long weekend to be shared with family & friends at home or away, or catching up on a few odd jobs around the house & an afternoon nap....Stay Safe & Enjoy. S xxx
