Botanical Inspiration...

Whilst 'breathing in' my new Australian House & Garden [Nov '10] issue I came across my very creative & talented textile artist friend Pip's, of PipWilly, beautiful bespoke hand-printed hemp cushions, that can be found at Planet [Furniture] or for other pieces through PipWilly's online store here.I knew they were Pip's the moment I saw them - she has a truly lovely signature drawing style that is unmissable. Styled with Pip's pieces is another talented fave of Palatial Living's - Pony Rider, with their stunning 'Flowerbomb' and 'Sneakers by Chris Searl' Wall dots...I also love their 'Ribbons' cushions especially in red. All teamed with the Kiku armchairs in sumptuous Zimmer+Rhode Portico fabric from Jardan [I dream of a very deep armchair & lounge from Jardan - a lounge wishlist] and 'new love' natural wall colour - 'Rock Quarry' from Endure range Taubmans. Well done Pip - PipWilly & the team from Pony Rider on some gorgeous pieces featured in H&G this month!

Colour Oh My - Blooming Spring Rooms...

I cannot believe I have just received my November issues of Australian House & Garden & Inside Out Magazines on Tuesday - the first week into October - where is the year going???

But the sense of what's new overrides the feeling of time fleeting by - and I am in love with these gorgeous Spring rooms,  full of pattern and colour. The best thing to do when the seasons change, as does trends in style & colour is to change your cushion covers. Other than a quick like of paint, it's one of the most inexpensive and instant way to transform a living or bedroom space! You don't need to be afraid of mixing brilliant, full chroma hues with amass of pattern and print when you see these gorgeous rooms... Why not try a small area in your home to start with! Go ahead - give it a go & have fun with it.... S x

Surprise....Top 50 Rooms - Australian House & Garden November '09 Issue

After several weeks away overseas I came back to a pile of my favourite interior mags, that I subscribe to, and had the pleasure of last week going through them all & getting reacquainted with what's happening in our wonderful Australian design scene...

And Wow what did I find but a little something from Anna [Spiro].... A BIG Congratulations to Anna [Spiro] of Black + Spiro, who is also our beloved design [community] blogger of 'Absolutely Beautiful Things' for making it into the Collector's Issue of 'Australian House & Garden's Top 50 Rooms' - November 09 issue! We had been treated to seeing this room previously on Anna's blog & website portfolio, and none of us doubt why this elegant & contemporary dining room was chosen to make it into the Top 50! It is so wonderful & encouraging to see a fellow designer being recognised & honoured with gracing the pages of Australian House & Garden, in what would be a highly competitive spread. Congratulations Anna - you continue to inspire us and show us what is possible...
