The Christmas - New Year Holidays....

It' been a little while between posts - I hope you have been keeping well and inspired! I have missed you ...
Lots has been happening on my side with jobs, family, house renovations & landscaping and I have embarked on more study - certifications in business & management, and diploma in marketing! With that I have been updating my business website & the Verandah Home & Garden Living Solutions facebook page - please visit and like me!

I hope you have enjoyed your Christmas with your family and friends... and the Summer [in Australia] and the Winter [in the Northern hemisphere- for my sister and her family].
This Christmas was especially fun as our little 2.5year old Isabelle really got the jist of it all including Santa and the idea of the Nutcracker guarding the gifts! Christmas is magic once again with little ones...

And you're enjoying a little rest over these holidays and gearing up for a fun new years!
Take care - Enjoy,

Hand-made Love: A Bit of Festive Sewing...

I'm steadily getting through a mini-production line of making personalised Christmas Stockings & Santa Sacks for our little family... I have gone with a red, white, eggshell & oyster/ taupe colour. That way if I inject anther colour one year they will all still coordinate! I played with the idea of buying online - but then checked out my fabric & trim stash and forgot how much I really had tucked away!
So I'm at the 'embellishment' stage now, then final construction will happen & then all to do is hang! And being a little ahead of myself [this breaks my auspicious tendencies] I have made 1 extra stocking and 1 extra Santa sack for someone [another baby] we hope to have in the future - not yet though, and will hold off embellishing until we know his or her personality & of course name!
Will post more pics with the finished goods are up & hanging too - not too far away now! Enjoy,

It's Christmas Eve...

Hope you have made it on the 'nice' list, or redeemed yourself in time to make it onto Santa's good list! It's Christmas Eve, and as many of us are preparing to visit family, and friends - some are travelling to their loved ones and some are away from them... my sister, Felic & [future] brother-in-law, Alex, who are based in London are heading to Switzerland for Christmas, and we wish them & all who are making their way by car, bike, plane, train , or boat - safe travelling & happy trails to their destination...
It's also at this time we think of [and pray for]those who are less fortunate either without family and friends, or without a warm place to stay and something to eat. If you are in a position to give a donation of time or money to help someone less fortunate than yourself - I encourage you do to please do so - be it inviting neighbour/s [elderly or otherwise] to your home for some Christmas cheer & company, dropping in on someone you know that may be by themselves over this holiday time, giving time to help at a shelter or to a food van, or giving to your local church drive or community pledge... anything you can do always helps.

So tonight I hope that you all keep well, that the milk & cookies, and carrots are out, and that little eyes fall asleep and are kept tight whilst Santa makes his annual visit... May your Christmas morning be a truly happy one!
Take care & Best Wishes, Sarah x
