Golden Ochre Hues...

Hope you had a fun weekend... we had some erratic weather over the weekend and much of the evening dusk sky was darkly lit with inky black clouds highlighting the golden yellow tones of the Australian flora - landscape,. Particularly where I live amongst many many trees!

Here - I was drawn to these warm golden ochre hues inspired through nature - landscapes, seascapes; fashion; interiors and art pieces... these are key areas to look to when building a mood board and finding fusion within a colour group. Sometimes - much like a mind map - the mood board and colouration will lead you to somewhere you would not have dreamt of beforehand... that's a great arrival at a hue you have to consider using!

Antiquian Pretty Palatial...

Just a few Pretty Palatial things that caught my eye - worn, pearlescent, unique, antique, new vintage, beautiful, special and natural... as we slowly 'make' good on our 'new-old' post war home in Sydney I carefully consider each 'renovation' that is sympathetic to the home's age, and beauty. I think this is why I have been looking towards these pretty images and palettes...

hints of ebony & crystal... it's so very pretty, divine and sophisticated.

Modern Vintage Marriage...

Simply in love with this 'washed modern-vintage' palette with these inspiring delicious images... Truth - old & new marry quite well together when considered & 'good design' is thought of, and visual & surface texture are used & subtle hues are found.

Pretty Pink Frou-Frou for The Cup...

With all the wonderful frou-four & dressing up for The Melbourne Cup [tomorrow] it has somehow made me think about pink, pale pink - I think these are Palatial-ally Pretty Pinks!
