Mid Week House Snoop...in Tumbi Umbi.

Tumbi Umbi - yes it really is a place north of Sydney, I didn't make up the name I promise!A coastal hinterland estate with 2.5acres of grounds is up for sale... here it is! Located so close to Sydney's central coast beaches Forrester's Beach & Terrigal this home in Tumbi Umbi takes it's architectural styling influence from a classic Queenslander and a Colonial homestead. With palatial size rooms and accommodation the surrounds are sublime...
Although I do think it needs an interior update - maybe a 'Verandah Home & Garden' touch! But to each their own! What really got me was the commanding presence this home has as you approach it from the drive and the pretty vista from the backyard and pool scape. Take a look...
Enjoy,

Palatial House Snoop... Beachside Hinterland.

There aren't too many homes that are featured on Palatial Living's House Snoop that I wouldn't want to live in - gosh they are all stunning in their own way, and often when we look for a home they are not only aesthetic drivers such as style, finishes, colours and overall look but we also fit for purpose - is it spacious enough, can we grow in it and with it, is it a great location?
This home featured this week on Palatial Living's House Snoop - has some many of these checked boxes it's hard not to want to keep the floor plans and put it into the 'dream home' folder, well in fact with this home I did just that - I thought the overall space & style  [Australian coastal meets Hampton's style] was phenomenally perfect - for me! I always keep a little folder of images with colours, floor plans and ideas so that one day when I have that 'forever home' to renovate or build I can revisit the folder and see what I still love and what might still be applicable.

Take a little look at this home located in Sydney's Central Coast suburb of Avoca Beach, perched in the hinterland of the beach - the surrounding lush hillside and is approx. 1 1/2hr drive from Sydney [in good traffic!] but I think once you snoop around you'll understand why it would be worth a commute or being able to telecommute and work from home when possible!
Enjoy,

Once More With Feeling... Shannon's way.

I just got my new issue of 'Inside Out' in the post on Monday & came across the lovely Shannon Fricke and her new magazine spread... I have long been an admirer of Shannon's work and hope to one day be able to be involved in as much as she has and does through colour, design & style. Here in this wonderful editorial piece we see Shannon's innate sens of colour through the rooms she has created for her friends.... dashed with her signature peacock blue, chartreuse green, canvased with white and swathed with sublime cool style. I'm sure you'll love these images as much as I do -

Shannon was approached by her good friends Olivia and Adam last year, to help them re-design and decorate their home in the hinterland of Byron Bay. The couple had lost their [decorating style] way a little after the birth of their two sons and wanted Shannon's help - who wouldn't!! Shannon's job was to create a style and a palette that reflected who they are and how they want to live - whilst being her friends who are also creative - a great challenge for us all... for more on the article and details please visit Shannon's blog , and be sure to to grab yourself a copy of 'Inside Out' magazine Issue81 September-October 2009 - out in now.
