Bellisimo!

A few little images that caught my eye - a splash of pink & style! I think 'Pink' is a highly underestimated hue - I used to stay away from it - but I have learnt the error of thins colour ways! Shades of Pink are great for 'pop', 'fashion', 'pretty', 'edgy' and an array of other adjective I could keep going - but mostly it's a great joinging accent hue.
And not to forget that I also love YSL - this logo placement designer tee top is uber cute - with spiked shoulder vest; I adore Limoges tea cups & saucers -yes in all shades, and I cannot resist dresser vignettes  - touch of respplendent pretty here - so can't go wrong really!
Hope you had a great Tuesday!
Enjoy,

A Christmas Vignette...

I put together this little arrangement earlier in the week with some rogue branches from my magnolia grandiflora tree and some new ornaments I bought this year. You probably already know of my obsession with typeface - so you'll understand why I love my new 'peace', 'joy', and 'noel' ornaments - not to forget the silver initials I also found for us three 'M' for my husband, Matthew, an 'S' for me, and an 'I' for Isabelle, our baby girl! Hope you like it!
See what you can find in your garden to create a little Christmas in favourite vase or jug.... Enjoy,

Friday Flowers...For You!

- A Vignette - Magnolia Grandiflora -

Friday Flowers in a different form - photography, and a truly beautiful image too. It's one of Palatial Living's signature blooms & one of my ALL time favourites - the Grandiflora Magnolia! Another great image from Martha Stewart via gorgeous blog, Lona de Anna! Happy Friday to You!
Apologies for the lack of postings this week a plethora of things happening - we have just come back from our first family holiday as '3' with our little Isabelle, whilst celebrating my husband's birthday, and had great time - but am all over the place with Palatial Living, and have just made my deadline emailing my lovely client her 'Pre-Sales Styling & Staging Guideline Report' minutes ago! Ohhh my 'laptop' shoulders need a soak, and there seems to be a tonne of housework to catch up on! Friday really crept up on me this week...Hope you have great weekend & Enjoy! S xxx

Flowers for Friday...Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday! I love this bright living room - I don't usually like 'yellow' as a main decorating colour more as an accent tor highligh, than as a main hue - but somehow in this space - combined with the raspberry pink red & off-white it really works. All colours share a 'muddier' grey base - they share the same value - and are therefore cohesive - one is not 'fighting' the other because they all share the same base. But really - I picked these images because I love the mixed pink peonies vased and placed on the tray coupled with a few books & favourite objects on the ottoman. A small casual vignette  that brings an 'organic' personal touch to the room.
This weekend I am 'taking it easy' getting rid of this bug for a start, and preparing to organise & de-clutter the home office project before ordering furniture & pieces. Plus a nice late afternoon sunny snooze somewhere fitted in!
I hope you have a lovely weekend [the weather in Sydney is set for sunny brilliant blue winter skies] and rejuvenate over the weekend, with family & friends, for a another wonderful week ahead! Thank You for joining me this week at Palatial Living - and your kind emails whilst I've been a 'tad under the weather'! See you next week! S xxx

A vignette of a dozen vased Pink Tea Roses for Isabelle, combined with special glass & china pieces and shells - from so many different people & places - my husband's grandmother, a good friend, some travel finds and a birthday! I often think that the best displays are often gathered over time and from many different people & places.

Special Pretty Flowers...

Here's a photo of little vignette I arranged with some of my favourite blue & white porcelain pieces, and my Chinese Tomb Warrior [I love this piece an old friend bought it back from his travels for us] with the beautiful bouquet of flowers that my parents sent our baby girl Isabelle in celebration of her 1 week birthday - today! I adore the pale pink flowers combined with the soft green & silver foliage, and the soft two tone stripe grosgrain ribbon! Perfect for the Isabelle Spell!

Good Friday Flowers...

Aptly, Friday Flowers for Good Friday... today is a significant day in the Christian calendar, Good Friday - which commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary. This holiday is observed during holy week and is the Friday preceding Easter Sunday. Traditionally the Cala, Arum or November Lilies, or White flowers in general are used for floral arrangements in Churches and religious celebrations on Good Friday symbolising purity, death, and innocence.... I love this image, Magnolia Grandi-flora [one of my favourite blooms] arranged & housed in an ostrich egg [as a vase] makes for an interesting vignette - found from a floral arrangement decorating project on Martha Stewart.
Here's to your Easter[long] weekend - whether you choose celebrate Easter in a spiritual sense , or you're looking forward a long weekend to be shared with family & friends at home or away, or catching up on a few odd jobs around the house & an afternoon nap....Stay Safe & Enjoy. S xxx

Easter Topiary Ideas...

I love this simple, fresh subtle Easter vignette. What a beautiful, delicate & subliminal way to bring the an Easter egg theme through a shaped hyacinth style topiary in a white lattice style vessel, with some small quail eggs resting on top of a few favourite stacked books. You could try this with another shaping large bloom or an evergreen foilage plant. Very pleasing indeed!
