Colour Effects - Embroidered & Print Pattern Cushions

I simply cannot resist any of these cushions... those who know me, and have tried to sit on any of my lounges know that need to move the 5, 7, 9, 11 or so cushions out of the way just to sit down! Yes I love cushions... I make them - fabric I have collected, beautiful tea towels are a fave way of mine, and ones i have just found esp from Jim Thompson [original home, museum and shop in Bangkok Thailand].
Here's a few I loved mixing up the print, pattern, and textures...
It's amazing when you mix pattern and print - the main thing is to join them wih the same or complimentary colour palette - that way you've got a winning combination!
Have a go - Enjoy!

Happy Brights...

Just a few bright colours that made me very happy...
I particularly love combining the organic feeling from the  floral [painting] print with the linear shapes of the ikat batik, and strong structure of the new regency Moorish designs.
Enjoy,

Pattern & Colour Friendship...

A few images I recently came across that I often find myself drawn to pattern & print in shades of blue  - the regency geo design carpet/ rug & watercolour ikat interpretation and accents of orange - again in the post modern regency look upholstered chaise Louis, and in the fabulously fun & gorgeous illustrations by Alanna Cavanagh. I find tints & shades of Orange to be such a great joiner / accent colour - much like Pink and Green.
Plus I couldn't resist the prints by Alana Cavanagh and the 'Cavoodle' Cavalier x Poodle looking puppy - reminded me of our dear U.S based friend Jen and her dog 'Toby'! Don't you think Jen?!
What colour & print friendship combinations have you found yourself drawn to - no you're noticing what do you think they could be?
Drop me a line on a comment and let me know!
Enjoy,

Loving Aura...

I received the latest e-newsletter from Aura by Tracie Ellis today and I am in love with the Ikat inspired indigo duvet cover, the stippled coverlet cushions & accessories, and the rest of her range including the chevron stripes and geometric moor inspired printed shapes on linens.
How can you not be enticed... it's even worse now for me - as our new bed & side tables finally arrived on the weekend! I just have our existing timber tallboy and blanket box to revamp - sand & paint to match the new bed frame & side tables [worn  effect with off-white colouration - 'white canvas'] and some new drawer knobs for the tallboy. Aura certainly provides the perfect 'canvas' for inspirational bedlinen.... take a look at the latest collection HERE.
Enjoy,

Upholstery & Chair Love...

What a colourfully sophisticated & fun living room... I love this graphic ikat inspired style of this gorgeous lolly pink upholstery on the white painted armchairs and the cushions; and again in the sea foam green colourway used as the window treatment - curtains and the cushions too, the design reminds me of the fabulous prints from Michelle Adam's
Rubie Green and the East Village print series There is clever use of linear graphic elements through the pattern in the upholstery print to the diamond-esque carpet design, through to balancing the strong heaviness of the angular coffee table to the curves of the 'knob-ular' ball armchair frame. Seamlessly ties together. Don't you love this too? !
