Gorgeous Store & Co...

Store & Co. Hobart, Tasmania - Australia.

I love the metal sign 'Free As A Bird'... Also showcasing
Megan Morton's book 'Home Love' who I had the
pleasure in meeting & having sign my copy
of the book at a recent ISCD event.

Store & Co. front window displays - makes me want to look closer!

I was tidying up my image files and couldn't believe that I hadn't posted these photos of a fabulous store I visited on my holiday to [Hobart] Tasmania a couple of months back! And let me tell you this store is memorable...so I must have been overly distracted to forget to tell you all about it!
Whilst walking down Macquarie Street in search of brunch one morning...I first came across the 'J.Boag & Son' sign [a great Tasmanian Australian brewery] and right next door led me to this fab find of a shop called 'Store & Co.'. We couldn't have missed it really the front pathway display lured me closer to the front window displays and on-in I went! Here's a few snaps of the store that 'Rachel' - one of the store people kindly let me take...
If you get a chance to visit or pop by I highly recommend it - you may come out slightly lighter in the purse or heavier on the credit card though!
Enjoy...

Some days it feels like this sign is a must!

I love the 'bus roll' theme with days of the week.

This is the footpath display outside the 'Store&Co.'
front window display that caught our eye!
An oldie but a goodie - 'Keep Calm And Carry On' is
one my faves no matter how many times it's
 been done in recent times.

This decal with 'Store' & 'Store Keeper'
definition sits behind the counter.

A 'Store & Co' colleague - Rachel

Beautiful high pressed metal ceilings, the
old original offices and store rooms were
guttted to make this open store space.

A beautiful eclectic mix of vintage hospital furniture and
equipment, flags, furniture and a keen sense
of typography - drew me into its throes!

Happy Friday Fruit!

- Tasmanian Pears -
Salamanca Markets, Hobart TAS
Happy Friday - I can't believe it's already Friday! Wow what a great week it's been... I wanted to share with you a photo I took whilst visiting the Salamanca Markets - the same fruit grower that had those delicious Apples, also had these devine Pears. I think Pears would have to be one of my favourite fruits...so much so I used them [Brown Barlett Pears] as part of the table decor at our wedding some years back now!
The week has not finished yet - we have a big weekend with the preparations and Christening on Sunday for our little Isabelle [now 5 months - the time has flown - out the window!]. So we're all quite excited for her big day, it's set to be amazing sunny, warm Sydney Spring weather and with her four Godparents to stand up & pledge for her, and of course all our lovely family & friends coming together to help celebrate. And I just love Isabelle's gown and after-party gown! Will be sure to post some pics next week some time...
What are you doing this weekend? Whatever it is I hope it's fabulous!
Thank You for visiting Palatial Living this week - I love hearing from you, please don't be shy & drop me a line when you can! Enjoy. S xxx

Love & Clutter...

I love this little yellow weathered & loved
stool, playfully holding the 'Love & Clutter'
store cards.
A great store find in Hobart [Tasmania] Love & Clutter I stumbled upon on Murray Street whilst en-route to brunch on holiday... This lovely store has an eclectic mix of [new] hand-made locally crafted items and re-purposed pieces, along side local designers, Ruby Victoria Letterpress, Notions lovely fashion accessories and Little Black Crows very cute little stuffed bunnies and other creatures. Those who know me & follow this blog would understand, naturally I was instantly drawn to their window display with their typographic '&' character on their store cards, timber characters and store bags. The I dug a little deeper and found that my talented blog friend Narelle who runs & owns 'Ruby Victoria Letterpress' is behind the 'Love & Clutter' logo card 'commission! Well done! Happy Friday! Fruit for Friday x

Here's to your 'healthy' Friday... Fruit for Friday! On our holiday, visiting the Salamanca Markets there's an abundance of fresh produce from the growers market area. Here are some photos I took of these Tasmanian varieties of apples, hence the namesake  'The Apple Isle', the grower of the market stall told me that come October [Spring] they can have up to and sometime over 30 vvarieties of apples, from super crisp & hard to soft & juicy, for eating alone or purely cooking, and cider - so many!

Fabulous Store Find in Hobart...

On my recent holiday to Tasmania, I not only had a great time away with my husband & our little girl, but also got to suss out some great stores...with camera in tow! Here's one I cam aross located in the Salamanca Arts Centre, Salamanca Place called 'The Maker'. I just loved all aspects of this store from the eclectic hand-made craft artisan feel of each item - homewares, furniture, and clothing, to the re-purposing of old appliances & gadgets - like the sewing machine, scales, and typewriters - it had a romantic mid-century modern purity & simplicity about it. Truly gorgeous.

Take a look..and if you're in Hobart be sure to look up 'The Maker'. Enjoy x
