Friday Flowers x

I haven't posted Friday Flowers for a little while so thought it was time to do so...
I was also inspired by the deep purple irises I just gave my lovely neighbour Kate, who kindly looked after our fur baby - poochies Lucy & Zach whilst Mr Palatial and I were skiing the slopes in Sahoro Japan! Oh and our little precious Isabelle was galavanting he South Coast NSW with my parents!
Thanks Kate!
Happy Friday Flowers * Happy Weekend!
Enjoy,

BTW - I have recently changed my Palatial Tunes to TunesList - so hope you like my Palatial Living inspired tunes whilst you're reading my posts or just have it in the background whilst your working [thats' what I do!] The MixPOD died and was taken over by iTunes so can no longer use it :( Tuneslist seems to be great x.

I Love My Dog...

I found the above little saying - typography saying the other week via pinterest. Whenever I see or here this saying I often think of the once popular Cat Steven's song 'I Love My Dog'.  What more can I say... our poochies, fur kids, gardening buddies and office puppies - whatever you want to call them - are Zach [our now 6yr old cavoodle on the left] & his partner and leader in crime, Lucy [our 7yrd old Cavalier King Charles]...
They are the best pets for our little girl Isabelle, gardening helpers - little shadows, afternoon companion snoozers, and not to mention a great lap warmer on a cool night!

Whichever way we look at it - we love our dogs as much as they love us... I think it's a lot!
How about you do you have a fur kid that loves you as much as you love it?
Maybe it has scales or feathers?
Enjoy,

Pattern & Colour Friendship...

A few images I recently came across that I often find myself drawn to pattern & print in shades of blue  - the regency geo design carpet/ rug & watercolour ikat interpretation and accents of orange - again in the post modern regency look upholstered chaise Louis, and in the fabulously fun & gorgeous illustrations by Alanna Cavanagh. I find tints & shades of Orange to be such a great joiner / accent colour - much like Pink and Green.
Plus I couldn't resist the prints by Alana Cavanagh and the 'Cavoodle' Cavalier x Poodle looking puppy - reminded me of our dear U.S based friend Jen and her dog 'Toby'! Don't you think Jen?!
What colour & print friendship combinations have you found yourself drawn to - no you're noticing what do you think they could be?
Drop me a line on a comment and let me know!
Enjoy,

Off & Away... for a bit.

Just a quick note to say that yes I am still alive & around! Although you may not know it from my lack thereof of shared inspiration, mid week house snoops, colour design tips & tricks, fab decorating projects - need I go on for what I have been depriving you of!
The saying ' when it rains it pours' that is my life for the past little bit for both family and work life!
So as I write this post - my lovely 1st fur baby Lucy, my Cavalier King Charles, lovingly sits on my lap her head hung over my typing arm... she knows something is going on! And she's right - I am off tomorrow on a plane for a work sourcing & development trip to Hong Kong & many China based cities, with 10 fuelled days of meetings, showroom & factory visits and several flights to throw into the choatic mix... It's a great opportunity & one I have been working towards for a number of years now - so like most things that present themselves to me - I grabbed it with both hands!
So over this time away, I will have limited access to emails let alone ability to post blogs on Palatial Living...

So it is here that I bid you adieu for now til my return when I really really hope that things start to settle down for at least a week or two til my next big project that I am DYING to tell you all about... but stay tuned!
Take care & please join me again at Palatial Living towards the end of June when I am back home in Sydney!

A Long Weekend & Bagnalls Beach...

We have just been away for a few [extra] wonderful days over the June long weekend [Queen's Birthday] we took off from Sydney earlier on Friday morning - to a wonderful beach side area, Port Stephens in New South Wales.
We love coming here both in summer & winter - either way there's something great to do & superb weather & particularly love to head off to Bagnall's Beach - where we stay near by - this beach is the puppy beach! [Friendly] dogs of all kinds can canter, run, roll & play on the sand and swim through the shallows - all leash free! For a 'mother' of two - a 3 1/2 year old Cavalier King Charles - Lucy, who treats this as her almost quarterly exfoliation - rolling through everything sandy then having some 'hydrotherapy' in the shallows this is perfect - as it is also for our nearly 3 years Cavoodle (Cavalier x Toy Poodle) - Zach, who's role in life, whilst we are away, is to be the welcoming committee to Bagnall's Beach - and greet all that pass his way with a quick wag of his tail, and a happy but wet lick of your leg!
So with that thought I would share a few photos from our extended weekend away....

Sunday Snooze & the Pooches Who Know How to...

Trying to strike a pose for a 'Real Living Magazine' cover - 'Real Living' mag has had awesome pooch covers!
The real 'boss' of the house, our 3.5 year old Cavalier King Charles, Lucy - she's Vogue ready at all times!
Our gorgeous (nearly) 3 year old Cavoodle, Zach... loves to sneak up to our room for snoozing &posing on the Sheridan!
See P-oodles love to sneak up onto the bed...

Lounging around... a dog's life - all dogs seem to find several fabulous snoozey spots in the home.
And often it's all about seeing who's watching to pick the right spot!
Most of us are fortunate enough to have pets, and know the love of 'your best friend'... I have two dogs of whom are my '1st borns', I don't have children (as yet) and these two dogs , my husband and I treat as our 'fur babies' also known as Lucy, a 3.5 year old pure bred Blenheim Cavalier King Charles (think Elizabeth Taylor - the Cavalier - not the actress as 'Charlotte's dog from SATC - although we got Lucy before Elizabeth Taylor was popular'); and Zach, a 3 year old Honey coloured Cavoodle (Cavalier Kind Charles x Toy Poodle) - who we think is a little Pinocchio, just like the puppet there was a little boy inside just waiting to get out!
Often my some of my favourite photo shoots from great interior magazines incorporate the owners pets in the shot... such as these above from Domino magazine. There are a couple of my favourite Australian interior & lifestyle magazines that do this more often than not - Real Living magazine, Australian Country Style, Australian House & Garden and Australian Home Beautiful - each with covers & editorial shoots with great pets! Next time your flicking through your favourite mag you might find your favourite breed!
