Birthday Wishes xx

April is such a big birthday month in our families. Amongst my husband and I we have all 3 Grandmothers, our Goddaughter, and our own gorgeous Daughter in almost row... Do you have month of birthdays that happens almost all at once too?

So today...
We have two very special birthdays today in our family fold, my Grandmother - from mum's side, whom I call simply 'Mum' a nickname too long to explain, also known as Nana to others in the family. We send you much love for a wonderful Happy 86th Birthday today x We love you so very much, and wish for you many wonderful happy & healthy days ahead for years to come.

Another special birthday today belongs to the other side of it all - our beautiful god-daughter, Charlotte, who turns a big no.4 today! For such a sweet, clever, beautiful little girl - whom we are always proud to be a special part in your life no matter who big or small. We love you & wish you a very Happy Big Girl 4th Birthday x

For each side of the birthday age spectrum each special in it's own right, and each seems to approach with gusto and speed each year!
If you have a family member or special friend's birthday today I hope you have a chance to wish them well, send them love and help to celebrate with them.
Enjoy,

Hello May!

 Ummm Hello May!
Where did my April go?? Did part of your year already feel like this?
April was such an amazing month...
Amongst a family wedding [Mr Palatial's - sister Kylie & now officially brother in law - Jim, more late]; Birthdays - Mr Palatial's Nana, and Two of my Grandmothers - 92years old and 85years old respectively, a God Daughter's 3rd birthday and our Little 'Is' who turned a feisty 'independent 2!'.
Then we were in the midst for a celebration of life as we farewelled Mr Palatial's Great Grandmother Caroline - whom at 109 years old & 7 months packed out her memorial service with family and many friends over her gorgeously lived life.

A few snaps I have posted from our recent little sojourn to our Nation's capital - Canberra over an extended weekend. These gorgeous park shots were taken at Commonwealth Park - a well known place for stunning deciduous trees of all varieties, sitting on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin - and home to many stunning Black Swans. This park is also home to an annual colour display that was in panning whilst we there 'Floriade'. Our little Is loved playing in the park, running along the crushed granite pathways, into the stone hill tunnel and castle play area, over the bridges and chasing and chased by the water birds!
If you get a chance to pop to Canberra for a little bit it would have to be one of the prettiest times to see it...
Thank for stopping by Palatial Living... See you soon.
Enjoy,

Ooops - Very Late Birthday Wishes!

Yes this is super tardy for Birthday Wishes to my sweet, smarty darling sister Felic, whose birthday was last week on the 18th August! I have been AWOL from Palatial Living - business development, although she's been cruising the good life at Lake Como Italy with her lovely husband at a friend's home - so I doubt she's had the time to check into Palatial Living - whilst she's been actually living the Palatial Life! All the same for those out there that may think I am a terrible sister I did try calling her numerous time but to no avail with reception. So presents will have to arrive to their London-based pad when they get back home!
So here's a very loving, although belated, Happy Happy Birthday Wish to my 'little' sister Felic - who will have a phenomenal year ahead of her as she embarks on a new fabulous role with a great firm & maybe house hunting in London town with her politically astute & well-versed husband!
Lots of love honey bun - Miss you from Australia - come visit us soon x

A 1st - 1st Birthday x

To our sweet 'baby' girl Isabelle for her 1st Birthday - Happy Birthday, little poodle! We love you so much...we're stupid crazy about you! You make it all worth while x
Like for most first time parents - we honestly don't know where the past year has flown to, and at the same time we didn't know how we'd get there and sometimes what to do!
We had a wonderful afternoon with close family and family friends - Isabelle's godparents, and their children - also our godchildren!
Needless to say I am 'pooped' after preparing all the decorations and somehow baking up a storm... the two grandmas came to the rescue with some sweet & tasty treats also - a huge help considering how time poor this week has proved to be and the beginning of the Easter celebrations today.
Will share more with you soon over this long Easter/ Anzac weekend.
Hope you had a good day,

Happy Easter!

Just in case I don't get a chance to wish you all a very Happy Easter on Sunday, I am being organised and thought I would send you my Easter wishes today...
This evening & tomorrow morning I am going mad into organising Isabelle's 1st Birthday party we're having a small afternoon tea for tomorrow! So between now & then I am baking cakes, making a no '1' birthday cake [thanks vintage Women's Weekly Birthday Cake Book!] hanging some super cute bunting, blowing up balloons, dishing out the party bags & setting the tables! All in shades of Pink & Green with stripes & spots for good measure!

So here's to your safe travels through the Easter & ANZAC long weekend, warm sunny [autumn] weather, delicious Easter eggs from the bunny and a Happy one too!
Enjoy,

BTW - will post my Easter Egg tree later on... just need to download my pics!

Happy Happy Birthday!

Sending loads of Birthday love & wishes to my fabulous sister-in-law, Kylie, today! Although she'd rather some hot chips with a candle, I know she still has a penchant for a cupcake or two only if they're really, really good!
It's an exciting year ahead for Kylie and her fiance, James - with their upcoming engagement party soon & loads of wedding planning ahead! Happy Happy Birthday!

Happy Weekend!

The Weekend couldn't arrive sooner! I love this image - the bright pink balloons fluidly flying up into the wind [like a formation of swallows] against the steady backdrop of the Eiffel Tower! We have my god-daughter's 3rd birthday party tomorrow and these pink balloons reminded me of what fun a little girls birthday party can be!

Did you take the Colour IQ test this week? What was your score? I had a bit of fun with it too... Thanks for joining me this week at Palatial Living - hope to see you next week! Til then - Happy Weekend, take care & enjoy...

Hello October!

Wow, I cannot believe October is here already! As one of my favourite months in the year for a few good reasons - a) it's my birthday month, b) it's Halloween [which is my actual birthday day & for fun celebrations for my friends in the Untied States]; c) New South Wales [my home state] gets Daylight Savings this weekend, and d) for New South Welshman and a few other Australian states we get the Labor Day October Long Weekend! And finally e) it's the start of the Sydney Food Festival... yum!
Not to forget all the gorgeous trees budding new leaves and all the blossom branches, the lawns get thicker and grow so much faster, warmer & longer days,  fabulous picnic & boating weather, and also a great time to spruce up your home before the Christmas festivities are upon us! Spring really is upon us in October!

Happy 90th Birthday...Grandma xxx

Sending our Love & Birthday Wishes to my Grandma [and my namesake] Sarah, whose milestone 90th Birthday is today! My Grandma has the most amazing garden, where she lives in Sydney's Blue Mountains, it is in this garden that she has taught me so many things to do with planting, gardening, design and horticulture. Here amongst many of my other favourite trees & plants that she grows, are the most amazing Hydrangeas, ranging from bold big heads of Blue, to White, to Purple-Red and Pink, this gorgeous wreath I stumbled across [on snippet & ink] is perfect for her & her home as birthday flowers.
We love you so much, you're a truly inspiring & admirable woman who we cannot help but be proud of & honoured to call 'Grandma'. Here's to another 10 birthdays at least! Love you Always. S xxx
