Sunset Hues... for end 2011

As the sun sets on the last day of 2011 - I wanted to include some of my recent fave images that encompass a little of this tan, tangerine, coral, vermilion, and burnt hue that may have the sun setting on your horizon today... as the last dusk of 2011 draws nigh.
Shamelessly I have included a few of my fave accessories in shoes [tory burch flats] and leather shopper totes.... a little silver shine too.
A paw paw orange is an accent hue that I often find myself drawn to you and use in my interior projects including my own home. It's a hue [colour] that when used correctly can make for a fabulous 'joining colour' and allows either summer or winter - depending on the tint or shade of the 'orange' to season-ise your space. It's a great alternative to Reds, Pinks and Greens....
Why not think about injecting a little into your accessories - wardrobe or home interiors!
Enjoy,
Sarah x

More Coral & More Blue White...

Following my post 'Palatial Blue White Poolside Entertaining'.... I just had to share this with you -I love the mix of Coastal & Asian influences through the teak bamboo chairs and Chinese style urn pedestals combined with the bold use of Coral Red in a coral pattern in the upholstery, with Blue White of the decor & lighting pieces against an all white backdrop.

Store Love...in Dallas with Coral & Chinoiserie.

Following my Coral hue affair... I stumbled across this gorgeous store display & am completely in love with this decor space... the glamour, the exotic, the warmth, the contemporary appeal, the eastern Chinoiserie influence in the colouration, screen and artwork - the coral, duck egg blue hues teamed with black gloss, mahogany & teak timber tones, and eggshell coloured stone over sized coffee table. Hope you love it as much as I do...

Colour Trend Alert - CORAL -

One of my favourite colours for both fashion and home wares/ decor would be Coral, it comes in tints and shades of tangerine to ruby-esque. And is fresh, striking as well as traditional & contemporary all at the same time. As a high chroma value hue -it an exceptional accent colour for a room or space, and in fashion it particularly works well on olive toned skin (which is maybe why I love it so much!).
Coral as a shape - It would also be one of my favourite natural shapes / design - Coral or also can be known as Sea Ferns - instantly adding an organic, sometimes coastal and occasionally graphic feel to a piece or room, and as a shape-graphic style can lend itself to be coloured-up in other hues as equally as well - creating very diverse atmospheres within a space.

In Love with Blue & White...

Blue & White Coral Wall Art framed in Silver from Horchow

New season Asian Ceramic Platter from Horchow

Ceramic Calligraphy brushes from Architectural Elements

New season Large Ceramic Asian Ginger Jar from Horchow

I have had a little break from 'Palatial Living' over the past few weeks but am back now and have been found new inspiration from new seasonal lines that have popped up over the New Year.
I have noticed that through my decorating & styling that I am consistently drawn back to 'Blue & White' both in its colour scheme and the patterns it can create. I adore these blue & white 'willow-esque' patterns from Asian ceramics from Ginger jars, to decorative but functional platters, to small containers and these brushes - above. Another decorative element that caught my eye was the hand painted blue & white Coral wall art in silver frames although not in essence part of the 'Asian' ceramic or 'willow-esque' look, the coral's 'fingers' still have a delicate & whimsical pattern that compliments the ceramic pieces and colour scheme allowing it to tie together in simpatico.
